HeyBinny is a text message reminder service for residential trash and recycling pickup in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to heybinny.com and to our SMS program.
Information we collect
- What you give us. Your mobile phone number, street address, neighborhood, trash hauler, and optionally your first name, submitted through the sign-up form on this site or by texting our keyword to (719) 465-5009.
- Messages you send us. The content of texts you send to our number, including confirmations, corrections, reports of late or missed pickups, and requests for paid services.
- Basic website data. Aggregate, non-identifying traffic data from our hosting provider, such as page views and referring pages. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers.
How we use your information
- Send the pickup reminders, delay alerts, and schedule change notices you signed up for.
- Confirm your neighborhood and hauler so you receive the correct schedule.
- Verify reports of service delays before notifying others on your route.
- Respond to your questions and HELP requests, and fulfill optional paid services you request.
- Keep records of consent and opt-out as required by law.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of vendors who process information only to provide their service to us: SimpleTexting for message delivery and consent records, Netlify for website hosting and sign-up form capture, Airtable for subscriber and route records, Make.com for workflow automation between those systems, and Stripe for payment processing if you purchase an optional paid service. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep your subscriber information while you are subscribed. Consent and opt-out records are retained for at least four years to document compliance with telephone consumer protection rules. Other information is deleted or de-identified within twelve months after you opt out, unless we are required to keep it longer.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for assistance.
- Ask us to correct your address, neighborhood, or hauler by replying to any message.
- Request a copy of your information, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@heybinny.com.
Colorado privacy rights
Colorado residents have the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of personal data, and to opt out of the sale of personal data or its use for targeted advertising. HeyBinny does not sell personal data and does not use it for targeted advertising. To exercise any right, email support@heybinny.com.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including access controls on the systems listed above. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
HeyBinny is intended for adults managing a household. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will notify subscribers by text.
